2016 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT: Generating excitement in the Land Rover exhibit at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show is the new ultra-performance Range Rover Sport SVR model that is capable of accelerating from 0-to-60 mph in an amazing 4.5-second. It also achieves an electronically limited top track speed of 162-mph. Classified as a midsize luxury SUV, the 2016 Range Rover Sport is also available in four other models: SE, HSE, HST SC V8 and Autobiography. The improved range of supercharged engines includes a pair of 3.0-liter V-6s and a 5.0L V-8. A new V-6 turbo-diesel generates 254-horsepower, and the supercharged V-6 develops 340-hp and features stop/start technology that automatically shuts down the engine at rest and starts again as soon as your foot is off the brake. The V-8 generates an amazing 510-hp and goes from 0-60mph in just 5.0 seconds. All engines are mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions. Also, standard on all models is four-wheel drive, terrain response system; hill descent control and hill start assist. When properly equipped the V-6 and V-8 models can tow up to 7,700-pounds. Range Rover's cabin offers five-passenger seating or a 5+2 arrangement with an optional third-row seat that stows under the floor of the luggage compartment. With the rear seat folded, there is 62.2-cu.ft. of cargo volume, and the full-size sliding panoramic tinted glass roof floods the interior with natural light. Desirable options include surround-view camera system, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic detection.
