2016 JEEP COMPASS: A proud product from the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, IL, is the Jeep Compass compact-sport utility vehicle. For 2016, the Compass lineup is available in two trims -Sport and Latitude. Standard powerplant for the Sport and Latitude 4x2 models is a 2.0-liter World Engine that provides 158-horsepower. It features a five-speed manual transaxle on the Compass Sport, and the new six-speed automatic transmission on the Latitude model. Available on all trim-levels and standard on the Sport and Latitude 4x4 models is the 172-hp 2.4L four-cylinder. All models are available with front-wheel drive, the Freedom Drive I full-time active 4x4 system, or the Freedom Drive II Off-road full-time active 4x4 system with low-range capability. When properly equipped, the '16 Jeep Compass can provide up to 2,000-lbs. towing capacity. It adds leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls; heated cloth mesh front seats; 18-in. aluminum wheels; Sport SE badge and liftgate brow when equipped with ParkView rear backup camera and bright exhaust tip. Mojave Sand is a new exterior color for 2016, added to shades called - Billet Silver, Bright White, Deep Cherry Red, Granite Crystal, Maximum Steel True and Black. The Jeep Compass offers up to 62.7- cu. ft. of cargo room when front passenger and rear seats are down. For peace of mind, the Compass comes standard with electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, hill-start assist and side-curtain air bags that cover all rows.
