2016 JAGUAR XJ: As Jaguar's flagship full-size sedan, the 2016 XJ received updated exterior design, enhanced infotainment and entertainment systems, newly available driver assistance features and changes to the model line-up. For 2016, the XJ lineup consists of the standard wheelbase XJ R-Sport, XJ R-Sport AWD, XJ Supercharged and the XJR. Depending on trim level, there are three engines offered, all nicely mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions. The 3.0-liter V-6 is supercharged and develops a healthy 340-hp. Then there are two versions of the 5.0L V-8: the supercharged 470-and 550-hp variants. The top speed is 155 mph and the XJ can accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Consumers have their choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations. Inside the six-occupant cabin, XJ offers a range of leather grains, a choice of premium wooden veneers and carbon-fiber finishes tailored to personal taste. Redesigned instrument cluster now offers full-screen line-of-sight navigation display. Passengers have an exceptional view with a panoramic, heat-reflective glass roof that extends to the full width of the car and sweeps as far back as the rear seat area. A wide range of color and trim selections, accented by elegant switchgear and soft phosphor blue lighting, offers expansive interior personalization. Eleven different woods are available, depending on the model, with carbon fiber and piano black finishes among the choices. A variety of stunning 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels are on the options list, with wider wheels fitted at the rear of the car, optimizing grip and enhancing the car's sporting, athletic stance. Some of the advanced driver assistance systems consist of traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with queue assist, closing vehicle sensing, park-assist (RWD models only) and reverse traffic detection. The latest XJs smoothly transports 18.4 cu. ft. of luggage in the tailored trunk.
