2016 HONDA CIVIC: As Honda's longest-running automotive nameplate, the 2016 Civic Sedan and Coupe models sport new vehicle architecture, spacious interior, and a new iVTEC engine. Buyers have a choice from two advanced engines that includes an 185-horsepower directed-injected 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.5L V-6 that delivers 278-hp. A continuously variable transmission or unique six-speed manuals can be ordered with the four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic for V-6 models. Now in its tenth generation, the compact-sized Civic Sedan and Coupe come in a host of trim levels, which includes the Civic LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring editions. All Civics receive a major facelift for 2016, wearing a more expressive front fascia, a more pronounced grille, large intake-like meshed areas with new LED fog lights, and contoured aluminum hood. Around back, new LED taillamp design is complimented by sculpted rear bumper fascia. New premium features and technologies include the first combined application of Apple CarPlay1 and Android Auto to a Honda model. All '16 Accords feature a standard multi-angle rearview camera and expanded view driver's mirror. The Touring trim adds new auto high-beam headlights. Across the board, every Civic model is equipped with Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Bluetooth Audio, rearview camera, color i-MID display, USB/iPod connection, Pandora Interface, an SMS text feature, steering wheel audio controls, exterior temperature gauge and sliding center-console armrest. Both sedan and coupe offer seating for five, a 60/40-split rear seat, and cargo areas in two sizes. The sedan's trunk is rated at 15.1-cu. ft. of volume (up 2.6-cu.ft), while the coupe drops to 11.7- cu. ft.
