2016 GMC TERRAIN: GMC Terrain remains a favorite in the compact crossover segment. For 2016, the Terrain is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive models, in SL, SLE1, SLE2 SLT1, SLT2 and Denali trim levels. The standard engine is the 182-horsepower Ecotec 2.4-liter four-cylinder featuring direct injection and camshaft phasing to optimize performance and fuel efficiency - enabling EPA-rated 32 mpg on the highway (FWD models). An available 3.6L V-6 with direct injection and continuously variable valve timing creates 301-hp. An efficient six-speed automatic transmission is stock equipment on all models and an "Eco" transmission mode on 2.4L-equipped models alters shift points to improve fuel economy. The 2.4L trailer towing maximum is 1,500 pounds while the 3.6L more than doubles that figure to 3,500 lbs. A new OnStar with 4G LTE is standard, with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, which is on whenever the vehicle is on and comes with a three-month/three-gigabyte data trial. Rounding out the new features are two exterior colors: Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic and Cypress Green Metallic. All models include four-wheel disc brakes with StabiliTrak electronic stability and traction control. Visually, each '16 Terrain wears a bold chrome grille, body-color fascias and rocker moldings, satin-chrome accents, unique headlamp and taillamp designs, and dual chrome finish exhaust outlets (single outlet with the 2.4L). Denali-specific 18-inch (with the 2.4L) or 19-inch (with the 3.6L) wheels complete its sculpted appearance. Interior highlights for the Terrain Denali offer a sophisticated five-passenger cabin feel with soft-touch leather lining the seats and door inserts. There is 31.6 cu. ft. of cargo volume behind the rear seat, or, when the rear seat is folded down, a total of 63.9-cu.ft opens up from the front seat to the tailgate door.
