2016 GMC SIERRA: GMC'S best-selling pickup truck, the Sierra 1500, receives a fresh appearance for 2016 and is offered in the base model, Elevation Edition, SLE, SLT, All Terrain and Sierra Denali. Powertrains include a trio of EcoTec3 engines that include a 4.3 liter V-6, 5.3L V-8, and a 6.2L V-8. In the U.S. and Canada, the 4.3L and 5.3L engines are matched with the Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission, while the 6.2L is matched with the all-new 8L90 eight-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers have their choice of two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations. The cabins are created for five or six passengers, and a choice between the current 5-foot, 8-inch box, or a new 6-ft, 6-in box. Regular cabs (2/3 passenger) continue with the 6-ft, 6-in. or 8-ft box lengths, while the extended cab (5/6 seater) comes exclusively with a 6-ft, 6-in. box. Exterior styling elements include LED "C-shaped" signature daytime running lights and LED headlights; new front fascia and grilles for each trim level; new LED fog lamps; new bumpers; and new "C-shaped" LED taillights. Wireless phone charging is included on all models equipped with front bucket seats. Upgrades and enhancements for 2016 include an all-new radio with a seven-inch-diagonal color touchscreen that's available on the base model and standard with the Elevation Edition. An eight-inch system is offered on higher trim levels and equipment packages. Additionally, heated, power-adjustable outside mirrors, remote keyless entry, rear vision camera, 110-volt AC power outlet, remote locking tailgate and LED cargo box lighting. Power windows are also included on regular cab models. The tailgate, easily removable without tools, is standard on regular cab SLE models, double cab and crew cab models with SLE or SLT trim, and Sierra Denali.
