2016 FORD TAURUS: Ford brings several new updates to the 2016 Taurus full-size sedan, including a standard rearview camera; SYNC 3 connectivity technology and three new exterior colors. A pair of engines is offered, starting with the four-cylinder engine combines 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder that delivers 240-horsepower and best-in-class highway fuel economy of at least 31 mpg. When the Taurus is fitted with the standard 3.5L V-6, it produces increased performance from its 288-hp. Powering the Taurus SHO is an EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 - delivering 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. All powerplants come mated with engine specific six-speed SelectShift automatic transmissions. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available only with the V-6. The '16 Taurus wears a muscular hood; larger wheels and tires that fill out the wheel-well openings and raised rear quarter panels with larger LED taillights. Just as appealing is sporty and inviting five-passenger cabin, with available eight-inch MyFord Touch screen, enhanced Sony audio system, paddle shifters, and heated steering wheel. The optional active park assist allows Taurus to scan and calculate the trajectory and properly position the vehicle to an appropriate parking space. The Taurus paint palette adds Shadow Black, Blue Jeans, and Guard to the color list, and the SHO replaces Shadow Black with its own Absolute Black. For groceries or luggage, there is 20.1 cu. ft. of cargo space in the roomy trunk. Chicago Auto Show Fact: The Ford Taurus is manufactured at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant, the company's oldest continually-operated automobile manufacturing plant, which is less than 20 miles south of McCormick Place.
