2016 Ford Flex

2016 FORD FLEX: For 2016, Ford's distinctive Flex sport-utility offer three-row, six/seven-seating in three distinct models: SE, SEL, and Limited. Each comes powered by a 3.5 liter V-6, offered in two variations. Standard V-6 delivers 287-horsepower. The optional EcoBoost V-6 produces a healthy 365-hp. A six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with fully automatic and manual control of gear selection is stock equipment with all V-6s. Plus, buyers have their preference of front wheel or all-wheel drive. Around the backside, the '16 Flex models have standard dual exhaust, and a standard integrated rear view camera. A first-ever Appearance Package contains black door handles, window sills, roof, liftgate applique and grille, on top of 20-inch rims. Standard on Flex SEL and Limited editions is SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system that features faster performance, conversational voice recognition, intuitive smartphone-like touchscreen and easier-to-understand graphical interface. To help in parking situations, the Flex has available active park assist that uses ultrasonic sensors to locate a parallel parking space. The system steers the vehicle into place with the driver controlling gearshift, gas and brake pedals. While motoring, a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert helps drivers avoid potential accidents. Depending on trim level, 17-, 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels are offered. New exterior colors include Shadow Black, Too Good to Be Blue and Knoa Blue. When properly equipped, the Flex has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 lbs., and with second and third-row seats down, there is 83.2-cu. ft. of hauling space.
