2016 Ford Escape

2016 FORD ESCAPE: All 2016 Ford Escape sport utility vehicle combine spirited driving, fuel economy and the latest intuitive technologies, wrapped in a stylish five-passenger sport utility body. There is a choice from a trio of four-cylinder engines and front-wheel or Ford Intelligent four-wheel drive systems. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder provides 168 horsepower and up to 1,500 lbs. towing capacity. There are two EcoBoost four-cylinder engines available, - the 173-hp 1.6L and a 2.0L that delivers 237-hp, with 2,000 and 3,500-lbs. tow ratings. Plus, the new Escape's active grille shutter system, which is on models with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines, reduces wind resistance. All engine variations are fitted with specially calibrated six-speed SelectShift automatic transmissions.  Popular and versatile vehicle features include an available hands-free power liftgate that allows quick and easy access to cargo with the kick of a foot. Available for the first time for the SE series Escape is a leather comfort package, which adds heated leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated power side view mirrors. The new SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system is offered, as is a chrome appearance package and new colors that are called Electric Spice and Shadow Black. Upgraded MyFord touch system makes connecting with digital devices on the go even easier, and with the press of a button, the active park assist detects an available parallel parking space and automatically steers the vehicle into space, while the driver controls only the gas and brake pedals. Stowing and towing are even easier thanks to a low liftover height of 27 inches, and the cargo volume of 34.3 cu. ft. behind the second row increases to a generous 68.1 cu. ft. of space when the second row is lowered.
