2016 FIAT 500: Updated news at the Fiat exhibit is that the 2016 Fiat 500 lineup has added more technology; a new trim level and fresh colors to it's already broad array of features. As a subcompact, the Fiat 500 (Cinquecento) is equipped with a transverse-mounted front engine, with a choice of the Multiair 101-horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder, or the turbocharged version that generates 135-hp. The Pop and Sport have a five-speed manual gearbox while the six-speed automatic is optional but standard on the Lounge. Consumers can select between the two-door hatchback, 500c (cabrio/convertible) and 500 Turbo configurations. For 2016, the lineup includes the Fiat 500 and 500c Pop, the new 500c Easy, Sport, Lounge and Turbo editions. Also continuing for 2016 is the limited-edition 500 1957 Edition that celebrates the original 1957 Nuova Cinquecento. The Fiat 500 retractable soft top can be operated at speeds up to 60-miles per hour with unprecedented three-position top design. Note that the Sport versions have specific exhaust tuning, sport suspension, and exclusive interior and exterior trim. Lounge hatchbacks are designed with a fixed-glass roof, and a sunroof is optional on all hatchbacks. Each 2016 Fiat 500 has revised passenger seats that sit one inch lower for increased headroom. Leather upholstery is only offered. In fact, there are 500,000 ways to customize the Fiat 500 using Mopar accessories.
