2016 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE: With minor refinements and added connectivity, the Chevrolet Traverse drives into 2016 as an ideal crossover-utility vehicle with three-row seating for up to eight adults. For 2016, the Traverse is offered in LS, 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ trim levels; in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The powertrain includes the 3.6-liter V-6 with fuel-saving direct injection technology and continuously variable valve timing, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. With single exhaust, the V-6 is rated at 281-horsepower, and 288-hp with dual pipes. These set-ups offer a towing capacity of up to 5,200 pounds. A pair of new exterior colors adds Iridescent pearl and Mosaic Black metallic to the paint pallet, and 20-inch aluminum wheel designs come painted and in machined finishes. A wide color paint pallet includes nine different shades from Siren Red tint coat to Champagne Silver metallic. Traverse enhances its safety reputation with the industry's first front center side air bag and comes standard with a rearview camera system. A power liftgate is standard on Traverse 2LT and LTZ models. Forward collision alert and lane departure warning are stock items on LTZ and available on 2LTs, which employ a high-resolution camera mounted on the windshield to determine if the driver is too close to vehicles ahead. Hill start assist is standard and helps reduce the tendency of a vehicle to roll forward or backward on a hill. With second and third-row seating folded, there is up to 116.3-cu. ft. of cargo room.
