2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500: Most prominent change to the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup truck for 2016 is a bolder, more sculpted front-end design. The '16 Silverado 1500 is offered in WT, LS, LT, LTZ and High Country trim levels, as well as the unique Silverado 1500 Hybrid - the industry's only hybrid full-size truck. Powertrains start with the 285-horsepower 4.3-liter V-6. Two Vortec small-block V-8 FlexFuel engines are available. The 5.3L offers up to 355-hp while the 6.2L V-8 bumps the horsepower up to 420. Depending on engine selection, a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic or eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard. Enhanced trailering packages afford the Silverado the capability to tow up to 12,000 pounds. Crew cab and Denali packages can seat 5/6 passengers while the regular cab holds three adults. Silverado features two interiors to meet the diverse needs of customers. The WT, LS, and LT trim levels feature the "pure pickup" interior while the LTZ and High Country feature more of a luxury-inspired interior. Wireless phone charging is included on all models equipped with front bucket seats. A cool new accessory is the remote locking tailgate. High-performance LED headlamps, new grille, and taillamps distinguish the '16 Silverado from predecessors. Other additions include and expanded lineup and enhanced technologies. The Silverado 1500 is built on GM's full-size truck architecture, in regular, extended and crew cab, as well as three cargo box lengths: 5 foot 8 inches (short), 6 foot 6 inches (standard) and 8 foot (long). Fresh new additions to the exterior color palette include Siren Red tint coat, Red Hot, and Iridescent Pearl tri-coat.
