2016 CHEVROLET COLORADO: Chevrolet Colorado midsize pickup for 2016 is available in Work Truck (WT), LT and Z71 trim levels, as well as in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Developed for the North American truck customer, the aggressive design is unique, with taller bedsides and raked belt line of the cab described as "the younger, more eager brother of the Silverado." Gasoline engines on the checklist include the 200 horsepower 2.5-liter four cylinder engine, and a 305 hp 3.6L V-6 DOHC VVT with direct injection, with a payload capacity and trailering capacity of more than 6,700 pounds. Colorado also offers an all-new, 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine that provides a maximum trailering rating of 7,700 pounds for 2WD models. All power plants are mated with a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission. There is a six-speed manual gearbox offered on extended cab two-wheel WT models. Body/bed layouts come in an extended cab model with a 6-ft. 2-in. bed, a crew cab with a 5-ft. 2-in. bed and a crew cab with a 6-ft. 2-in. bed. With the tailgate down, the six-foot bed allows hauling of eight-foot-long items and a maximum payload capacity of 1,555 pounds. New technologies that are standard include forward-collision, lane-departure warnings, and a backup camera. New phone integration on Colorado's MyLink system displays content from Apple iPhone 5 or later models on the multicolor screen through the Apple CarPlay feature.
