2016 CADILLAC CTS-V: Cadillac fans attending the 2015 Chicago Auto Show will be making a beeline to see the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, the most powerful product in the brand’s 112-year history. This is a midsize Caddy with a 6.2-liter V-8 that packs 640-horsepower, and 630 lb-ft torque, and is capable of a top speed of 200-mph. The engine is connected with GM’s Hydra-Matic paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission. A wide variety of updates make the CTS-V a luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car straight from the factory. A Brembo brake system provides durability, consistency and the capability for track-day performance. The nineteen-inch wheels come wrapped with specially developed Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that give the CTS-V its footprint and enable nearly 1g in lateral acceleration. From the outside, almost every panel on the 2016 CTS-V is unique, from the fascias and fenders, to the hood, rear spoiler and rocker moldings. These are features designed to support the car’s capability, contributing to lift reduction and enhanced cooling. The five-passenger cabin contains a standard 20-way performance-oriented heated and ventilated front seats trimmed in semi-aniline leather, with suede microfiber inserts and seatbacks. Available Recaro performance front seats can be ordered to better hold the driver and front passenger in place during high-load cornering. The CTS-V features a 12.3-inch instrument panel cluster display, with V-Series graphics and an accompanying full-color, reconfigurable head-up display. It is also equipped with the latest connectivity technologies from Cadillac, including CUE with Bluetooth, navigation with Bose Surround Sound audio, Siri Eyes Free and text-to-voice and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. Complementing the handsome interior, the deck lid opens to a tailored trunk with 13.7 cu. ft. of room for shopping sprees or vacation jaunts.
