2016 BMW 4 SERIES: On display at the Chicago Auto Show is the sporty 2016 BMW 4 Series, offered in mid-size four-door sedan, convertible and four-door Gran Coupe hatchback. The new BMW 4 Series Coupe is visibly larger in width and wheelbase than the outgoing BMW 3 Series Coupe, and its stretched silhouette sits considerably lower to the road. This, together with its BMW-typical short overhangs, long hood and set-back passenger compartment with flowing roofline, give the BMW 4 Series Coupe a visual balance. Offered as both a BMW 428i with TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and a 435i with TwinPower Turbo 3.0L inline six, each can be ordered with a standard eight-speed sport automatic or six-speed manual transmission. All models and powertrains can be matched with rear-wheel drive or with optional xDrive - BMW's intelligent all-wheel drive system. Once inside the stylish cabin, passengers notice the intelligent use of space; the 4+1 seating and flowing free-standing flat-screen iDrive monitor. The backrest can be folded in 40:20:40 configurations to create more luggage and storage space as required - with a flat floor for easy loading and unloading. When the seat is completely folded down, the maximum volume capacity is 45.9 cu-ft. The new BMW 4 Series Coupe is offered as both a 428i, featuring BMW's award-winning TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and as a 435i with the multi-award winning Twin Power Turbo 3.0-liter inline six. Both engines can be fitted with a standard eight-speed sport automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox, and the buyer has a choice of rear-wheel drive or with optional xDrive, BMW's intelligent all-wheel drive system.
