2015 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN: Those who dig crossover SUVs with unusual names during the 107th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. Combining “tiger” and “iguana,” the 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan offers a sporty take on the SUV ideal. A 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard on all Tiguans. Roof rails, a rearview camera, Volkswagen’s Car-Net connected services system, and satellite radio is also standard on all trims. Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights are available, and buyers have a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. In addition to Car-Net, which is standard for 2015, other infotainment features that are now standard include iPod integration, the aforementioned rearview camera, and a premium touch-screen audio system with six-CD changer and SD card memory reader. The R-Line trim gets a new stylized rear bumper. Heated leather seats and a navigation system are available, as is a panoramic sunroof. Fuel economy is 21 mpg city/26 mpg highway with front-wheel drive and 20/26 with all-wheel drive.
