2015 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT: Visitors to the 107thannual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015, will be able to see the 2015 Volkswagen Passat. New for 2015 are a new turbodiesel engine, rearview camera for the S and Wolfsburg trims, and rain-sensing windshield-wiper system for the SEL trim. The new 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine makes 150 horsepower and can get up to 44 miles per gallon highway when matched to a six-speed manual transmission and 42 mpg when paired to the six-speed DSG automatic. Volkswagen is claiming a highway range of up to 814 miles with the manual transmission. Also new for 2015 is a Technology Package for the S and Wolfsburg trims, which includes a rearview camera, premium audio system with eight speakers, and satellite radio. If diesel power doesn’t suit you, there are two other engines: A 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder that makes 170 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 280 horsepower. Available Passat features include rearview camera, navigation, leather seats, Bluetooth, satellite radio, iPod integration, VW’s Car-Net connected services system, keyless entry and starting, heated front seats, front fog lamps, sunroof, 18-inch wheels, memory seats, and chrome accents. Built in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Passat is billed as being built in America, for America by Volkswagen.
