2015 VOLKAWAGEN JETTA: As Volkswagen’s best-selling car, the Jetta has been further refined from the updates that arrived with last year’s model. The 2015 Jetta receives a crisp new look for improved aerodynamics, along with several mechanical improvements. A key benefit of the Jetta’s extended 104.4-inch wheelbase is a spacious five-passenger interior, with impressive rear-seat legroom and headroom. The front-wheel drive Jetta continues to offer a selection of powerplants: a 115-horsepower 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, 170-hp 1.8L turbocharged/intercooled, 150-hp 2.0L turbocharged EA288 TDI Clean Diesel engine, and 1.4L turbocharged hybrid unit that generates 27-hp from the electric motor and 150-horses from the gasoline engine. Depending on engine selection, the Jetta is offered with a five-speed manual, six-speed automatic transmission, or Volkswagen’s seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. All Jettas come with standard air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, one-touch auto up/down power windows, power locks with keyless entry, aux-in for the radio/CD player, and power heated exterior mirrors. The Jetta offers an abundant 15.5 cubic feet of usable trunk space, which can be increased by folding forward the 60/40-split rear seatback. And to help accommodate longer items, like skis, the rear seatback provides a pass-through door into the trunk. A new lighting package provides interior ambient lighting, the Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering and LED daytime running lights, and an upgraded display in the instrument cluster. Note the special features on the Jetta Hybrid, including the blue-highlighted Volkswagen logo and badging, a unique air intake, air dam, side skirts, underbody and diffuser.
