2015 TOYOTA TACOMA: The best-selling midsize pickup in America will appear at the Toyota stand at the 107th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. The Tacoma is available with four-cylinder or V6 power, rear- or four-wheel drive, two bed lengths and two cab sizes. The extended cab, which Toyota calls Access Cab, comes with the long bed, seats four passengers, and has rear-hinged rear doors. The crew cab, which Toyota calls Double Cab, comes with the short bed or long bed, seats five, and has four regular doors. That short bed is 60.3 inches long while the long bed stretches to 73.5 inches. The base engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder that produces 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. The Tacoma is also offered with a 4.0-liter V6 that makes 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. The model range includes base, PreRunner, and the new TRD Pro trim levels. All Tacomas come standard with a bedliner, a deck rail system with four tie-down cleats, and a full-size spare tire. The base model has painted bumpers and 15-inch tires on steel wheels. Four-wheel-drive and PreRunner models get a raised suspension, skid plates, and 16-inch tires. The new TRD Pro adds Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs, TRD-tuned front springs, TRD exhaust, and B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain KO on/off-road tires on 16-inch black alloy wheels. The Tacoma can haul up to 1500 pounds of payload and tow up to 3500 pounds with the four-cylinder engine and 6500 pounds with the V6.
