2015 TOYOTA PRIUS: Toyota’s well-known hybrid, the Prius, will be on hand to check out at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. The 2015 Toyota Prius adds a new special addition with new colors and finishes. The Prius continues to pair a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a hybrid powertrain that makes 134 total system horsepower. As a full hybrid, the Prius can run solely on electric power, solely on gas-engine power, or on a combination of both. The Prius uses a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). Standard features include a tilt/telescope steering column, Bluetooth, a USB port, an auxiliary port, keyless entry for the driver’s side door, a backup camera, and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 player. Available features include navigation, a moonroof with solar panels (available with a remote air conditioning system that allows the driver to lower the interior temperature before he or she enters the car), satellite radio, Toyota’s EnTune app suite, enhanced voice recognition, iTunes tagging, an uplevel audio system, a head-up display, and a seven-inch touch screen with split-screen capability. The Prius is available in several trims: Prius Two, Prius Three, Prius Four and Prius Five. Available safety features include ABS, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, stability control, a brake-override system, radar cruise control, lane-keep assist, pre-collision assist, and lane-keep assist. Fuel economy for the Prius is listed at 51 mpg city/48 mpg highway/50 mpg combined.
