2015 TOYOTA 4RUNNER: The Toyota 4Runner is at home on road and off, but from Feb. 14-22, 2015 it will draw attention on the show floor at the 107th annual Chicago Auto Show. The star of the lineup, which includes SR5, SR5 Premium, Trail, Trail Premium and Limited trim levels, is the new TRD Pro model. The off-road-oriented TRD Pro is equipped with 17-inch black alloy wheels on Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs, TRD-tuned front springs, a front skid plate, a unique front grille, and black front and rear lower bumper accents. Inside, it adds a TRD shift knob and TRD floormats. All 4Runners are powered by a 4.0-liter V6 that churns out 270 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and buyers have a choice of two four-wheel-drive systems. The base system works part time and must be disengaged on dry pavement, but the full-time system, which comes on the Limited model, is set-it-and-forget-it easy, and it also features a locking center differential. The Trail and TRD Pro systems also get a locking rear differential, Crawl Control, and Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select system that optimizes several vehicle systems to work best on different types of surfaces. The 4Runner is available with two- or three-row seating that can accommodate up to five or seven passengers, and it has as much as 89.7 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seats folded down.
