2015 SUBARU LEGACY: Subaru of America, Inc. introduced the all-new 2015 Legacy on Feb. 6th during media days at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. With rave reviews, the ’15 Legacy midsize sedan is on public display at the show from Feb.8-17 in McCormick Place. For 2015, the Legacy offers more compelling blend of standout design, interior refinement, safety technology and higher fuel efficiency along with the largest interior passenger volume in its class. And, is still the only car in its class with All-Wheel Drive as standard. Consumers can choose from the Legacy 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited and top-tier 3.6 Limited. Two powerplants are available. The Legacy 2.5i is powered by a double-overhead-cam (DOHC) FB series 2.5-liter BOXER engine, with power increased slightly, to 175 horsepower vs. 173 hp before. With the ‘15 Legacy, Subaru continues to offer the 3.6-liter BOXER engine that delivers a healthy 256 hp. All Legacy models now come standard with a Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission), with the 6-cylinder model using a high-torque version. Also standard equipment is the Incline Start Assist and the electronic Hill Holder System that holds the vehicle in place until the driver applies the throttle. With nearly the same exterior footprint as the previous Legacy, the latest model offers a roomier passenger cabin, and the trunk has been enlarged to 15.0 cu. ft., up slightly from 14.7 cu. ft. A standard 60/40 split fold-down rear seat expands carrying capacity, and standard rear-view camera is located closer to the center of the car for more natural imaging. The driver faces a decidedly sporty instrument panel, highlighted by two binocular-style gauge pods with center LCD information display -- 3.5-in. on cars without the EyeSight driver-assist system and 5-in. on EyeSight cars.
