2015 PORSCHE MACAN: Porsche’s 2015 Macan compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) will be on display during the 107th Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. The name Macan comes from the Indonesian word for tiger, and the vehicle makes a striking impression from the very beginning: dramatic acceleration and braking figures, impressive engine power, extreme agility, and optimum steering precision. What's more, all of these features are combined with a high level of comfort and everyday drivability. Two models comprise the Macan lineup. As the top model, the Macan Turbo is set the most powerful vehicle in the compact SUV segment. The 3.6 -liter V-6 twin turbo engine achieves an unrivalled 400-horsepower and catapults the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. With the Sport Chrono package, it is possible to achieve such a speed in 4.4 seconds. The Macan Turbo top track speed is 164 mph. With the Macan S model, the standard engine is a 3.0-liter V-6 twin turbo that delivers 340-horsepower and features active all-wheel drive. A seven-speed double-clutch transmission transfer power, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, or 5.0-seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package, and can reach a top speed of 156-mph. Both the Macan Turbo and Macan S can tow up to 4409-lbs., and the cargo room expands from 17.7 cu.-ft. with rear seats up, and 53.0 cu.-ft. with seats folded flat. Popular features include standard active all-wheel drive and the Porsche PDK double-clutch transmission. Among the equipment optional in the interior is the Burmester® High-End Surround Sound system, available for the first time in a vehicle of this class. Other new equipment options include the lane keep assist and lane change assist system. Features such as the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Porsche Active Safe (PAS) deliver a further boost to comfort and safety.
