2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE: The Jeep Grand Cherokee was introduced in 1992, and since then, it has become the company’s top-selling model, with nearly five million sold worldwide. For 2015, Jeep receives even more content as a premium SUV, features that make it more fuel efficient and luxurious than ever. There are five trim levels beginning with the Grand Cherokee Laredo, Laredo E, Limited, Overland and top-tier Summit. Big news for ‘15 is Jeep’s new 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V-6 that delivers 240-hp and clean-diesel technology, now has a driving range of more than 730 miles, and can tow up to 7,400 pounds. Chrysler Group’s 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine features variable-valve timing and delivers 290- horsepower. At the top is the 5.7L V-8 that packs 360-hp and includes fuel saver cylinder-deactivation technology. All engines come linked to the new eight-speed automatic transmission that improves fuel economy across the board. Consumers have a choice of three available 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), an available Quadra-Lift air suspension and a Selec-Terrain traction management system. Interior luxury for the five passenger vehicle is achieved with premium amenities including Natura leather and exotic open-pore wood trim. Also unique to Summit is a premium suede-like material covering the A-pillars and headliner. New for 2015 is the availability of Argentina Tan interior with black-accent stitching. Maximum cargo room when second row seating is lowered is a healthy 68.3 cu. ft. The power rear liftgate is standard or available on all ‘15 Jeep Grand Cherokee models. Additional technologies offered number more than 60, including front park assist, forward collision warning with crash mitigation systems. Occupants will enjoy the Uconnect access via mobile and cloud-based voice texting and an 8.4-inch touchscreen radio with infotainment controls.
