2015 HYUNDAI VELOSTER: Hyundai’s convention-shattering Veloster adds even more convenience, safety and performance for 2015, and includes two highly differentiated models, the Turbo R-Spec, and the Veloster RE:FLEX Edition, appealing specifically to both performance and design enthusiasts. Veloster delivers innovation to the compact segment by combining the style of a coupe with the functionality of a glass hatch and passenger-side forward-hinged rear door. The large third door makes access to the rear-seating easier. In profile the Veloster features “Fluidic Sculpture” character lines, muscular wheel arches, body color door handles and wraparound headlights and taillights. Veloster comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels and offers two types of 18-inch wheels. Powering the sporty, front-wheel drive Veloster, is the direct-injection Gamma 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, and peak output of 138 horsepower and 123 lb. ft. of torque. A six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission can be ordered with that engine. And adding to the fun-of-driving is sport-tuned electric power steering that adjusts instantly to changing driving conditions while improving fuel economy. Available goodies include Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics system, Pandora internet radio with seven-inch touch-screen display, Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition and backup warning sensors. All Veloster models feature a rearview camera for superior parking visibility. An additional standard safety feature for the Veloster is the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, which optimally manages ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the Motor-Driven Power Steering (MDPS).
