2015 HONDA ACCORD: Now in its ninth generation, the Honda Accord has been sold in the U.S. since 1976, and produced in America since 1982. For 2015, the Accord is more compact than the prior-generation, yet provides improvements in rear legroom and trunk volume. The latest Accord Sedan lineup includes eight model choices, including six-gasoline-engine versions: LX, Sport, EX/EX-L V-6 and Touring, the Accord Plug-In Hybrid, and the new Accord Hybrid Sedan. A total of four model choices make up the Accord Coupe: LX-S, EX, EX-L and EX-L V6. Standard items include Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, USB/iPod integration, rearview camera, an audio/information screen, Eco Assist driving system, Pandora Internet radio integration and an SMS text messaging function. The 2015 Accord lineup is powered by Honda's new Earth Dream powertrains, which includes the next-generation 2.4 liter direct-injected VTEC four-cylinder engine, with 185 and 189 horsepower ratings. Plus, the ‘15 models offers a more efficient and powerful (245hp) Earth Dreams VTEC V-6. Three transmissions are available, including the first-ever application of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on 2.4L four-cylinder models; a six-speed automatic on V-6 models, and six-speed manual transmissions on 2.4L four-cylinder models and the 3.5L V-6 Coupe. The Accord Plug-in Hybrid Sedan and a second model with conventional hybrid based on the same powertrain architecture are available. The trunk on the Coupe can carry 13.7 cubic feet of luggage, and the Sedan increases the volume to 15.8 cubic feet.
