2015 YUKON/YUKON DENALI: Appearing for the first time at a Chicago Auto Show is the all-new, more-capable 2015 GMC Yukon family – Yukon, Yukon XL and flagship Yukon Denali. Bold styling cues include chrome-accented grilles matched with GMC’s signature C-shaped light-emitting diode lighting motif, front and rear. Yukon and Yukon XL share design, architectural and powertrain elements, but Yukon XL has an approximately 14-inch longer wheelbase and is approximately 20 inches longer overall, providing greater legroom for third-row passengers and almost twice the cargo room behind the third-row seat. The cabin include soft-touch instrument panel, console and door panel materials. All models have a standard Bose sound system, and noise cancellation technology to make the interior quieter. An available power rear liftgate has a multiple programmable height settings. Standard and available features, depending on the model, also include forward collision alert, front park assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear automatic braking, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat. A 355 horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 is standard in Yukon and Yukon XL models and an exclusive 6.2L engine is standard in Denali models, delivering 420hp. Both powerplants are matched with the Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission. The Yukon/Yukon Denali offers a 7800-8500 pound towing range, and cargo room is rated at 94.7 cu. ft. in the Yukon and 121.1 cu. ft for the Yukon Denali. A trio of wheels sizes for 2014 are listed as 18-, 20- and 22-inch.
