2015 GMC CANYON: A major all-new midsize truck will be on display in the GMC exhibit during the 107th Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. We’re talking about the redesigned '15 GMC Canyon, with powerful exterior presence that inside out reflects pure GMC technology-infused design. Offered in base, SLE and SLT models, the 2015 Canyon comes in three body configurations, plus in rear-wheel and four-wheel drive set-ups. Consumers can opt for an extended cab design with a six-foot bed, a crew cab with a five-foot bed and a crew cab with a six-ft. bed. When the tailgate is down, the six-ft. bed allows eight-foot-long items to be hauled within the vehicle. A pair of engines are offered, engineered to be more powerful and efficient. Standard, is the 193 horsepower 2.5-liter four cylinder engine, with a 302hp 3.6L V-6 available. Both powerplants are matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual gearbox is also available with the base extended cab two-wheel models. Canyon offers a maximum payload between 1400-1450 pounds, and maximum 6700 towing capacity. All models wear the bold front-end styling that contains the segment’s only standard projector beam headlights and GMC’s C-shaped LED daytime running lamps. Exterior features to note are the CornerStep rear bumper, EZ Lift-and-Lower locking tailgate, bed rail and tailgate protectors, and two-tier loading platform split into upper and lower sections, 13 reconfigurable and four stationary tie-down locations, and all-new aluminum hood. Large rearview mirrors and rear-vision camera system offers greater visibility, plus the ’15 Canyon offers segment-first forward collision alert and lane departure warning technologies.
