2015 Dodge Challenger: Building on the 2014-model’s legacy of honors, the 2015 Dodge Challenger ups its game with new 1971-inspired exterior and interior design features. A total of eight trim levels include: SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, R/T Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack. (See separate Challenger SRT Hellcat review). New for 2015 is the segment-first and segment-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers world-class precision and up to an 11 percent improvement in fuel economy, compared with the outgoing gearbox. Significant fresh technology upgrades such as the all-new Uconnect Access system with standard touchscreen, standard new seven-inch multi-view TFT gauge cluster, new performance electronic shifter, and Keyless Enter ‘n Go with push-button start. Improved performance for 2015 is offered from a trio of powerplants, starting with the robust 305-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that provides up to 30 mph highway and blasts from 0-to-60 mph in six-seconds. The 5.7L Hemi V-8 generates a strong 375-hp and for those who crave even more raw power, the 6.4L Hemi produces 485-hp and 475-lb.ft. of torque to the rear wheels. Both V-8 engines use Fuel Saver Technology that deactivates four cylinders when eight are not needed. Check into the Super Track Pak for an edgier drive and tighter handling. To highlight the muscle car’s performance abilities, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is designed with a performance five-passenger cockpit that embodies the trapezoidal themed exterior in an artistic and more organically styled way.
