2015 CHEVROLET COLORADO: Starring inside the Chevrolet exhibit during the 107th Chicago Auto Show is the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado that redefines the midsize truck. Developed for the North American truck customer, the aggressive design is unique, with taller bedsides and raked belt line of the cab described as “the younger, more eager brother of the Silverado.” For the 2015 model year, the redefined Colorado is available in WT, LT and Z71 trim levels, and in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Body/bed layouts come in an extended cab model with a six-ft. two-in. bed, a crew cab with a five-ft. two-in. bed and a crew cab with a six-ft. two-in. bed. With the tailgate down, the six-foot bed allows hauling of eight-foot-long items. Two engines on the checklist include the 193-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and a 302-hp 3.6L V-6, with each connected with a six-speed automatic transmission. There is a six-speed manual gearbox offered on extended cab two-wheel Work Truck models. In 2016, Colorado will begin offering the segment’s only diesel engine – a proven Duramax 2.8L I-4 turbodiesel. The diesel engine will expand Colorado’s powertrain lineup to cover the broadest range of needs. When properly equipped, the Colorado offers class leading payload capacity and trailering capacity of more than 6,700 pounds. For those looking for the brawniest Colorado, check-out the off-road-inspired Z71with its gunmetal grille surround, projector headlamps and unique 17-inch aluminum wheels.
