2015 CADILLAC ATS COUPE: One of the highlights in the Cadillac exhibit during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show is the Cadillac ATS Coupe. It’s billed as Cadillac’s first compact luxury Coupe, and a quicker, more personal addition to the ATS product line. A major detail to note when you view the car – it’s the first production model to wear Cadillac’s revised crest (logo). The 2015 ATS Coupe offers a choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration, and a choice of engines. A standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is rated at 272 horsepower, and the available 3.6L V-6 pumps out a respectable 321hp. Both powerplants feature direct injection and each is matched with the Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control. If you really enjoy changing gears, a six-speed manual is also available with the four-cylinder engine. Recent time trials recorded 0-to-60 in 5.6 seconds. The 2015 ATS Coupe rides on the same 109.3-inch wheelbase as the sedan, but features its own bodywork. The roof, doors, rear fenders and trunk lid are unique to the Coupe, along with a specific front fascia and front fenders that accommodate a wider track than the sedan. You can’t help but notice ATS Coupe’s aggressive stance, enhanced by short overhangs and sheet metal that wrap tautly around the tires. Inside the driver-focused cabin is handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstered 2+2 seating, and there is 10.4 cubic feet of luggage room in the tailored trunk. A Bose premium audio system with Active Noise Cancelation technology is standard on all models and includes electronic sound enhancement on models equipped with the available premium surround sound audio system. Standard 18-inch wheels are exclusive to the Coupe.
