BMW M3 Sedan

2015 BMW M3 SEDAN: BMW will be featuring the all new BMW M3 Sedan at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, as the first-ever BMW M cars to have an engineered-in reduction in curb weight from one generation to the next. Low-slung and broad-set, the BMW M3 wears large air intakes and air curtains at the front end, with exposed carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and aluminum body components, plus, a diffuser at the muscular rear end. The dark color of the CFRP roof (with its contoured roofline) gives the M3 Sedan a lower-slung and more compact appearance, as the eye perceives the roof pillars – painted in body color – to be the uppermost point of the car. Containing a return to the inline-6 engine format made famous by the M Series, the new 3.0-liter is lighter and packs 425 horsepower. The high-revving six with M TwinPower Turbo technology comes with the standard six-speed manual gearbox and optional seven-speed M Double-Clutch automatic transmission. With the manual tranny, the M3 dashes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, and 3.9 seconds with the seven-speed. Details such as the powerfully formed front apron, smooth underbody and clearly defined Gurney spoiler at the rear of the M3 Sedan reduce lift by an equal degree at the front and rear axle and produce optimum handling attributes. Together with the aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors in twin-stalk style, they are also highly distinctive design features of the BMW M3 that reconciles the requirements of everyday use with the demands of action on the race track. Climbing into the BMW M3, drivers will be greeted by unimpeachable ergonomics and clear driver focus, and include M series features like a leather steering wheel with chrome trim, color contrast stitching and electroplated-look shift paddles.
