2015 ACURA MDX: All-new for last year’s model, the Acura MDX flagship SUV receives minor upgrades for 2015. In its third generation, the MDX is available in two-wheel and Super Handling All-wheel Drive (SH-AWD) drivetrain configurations. Acura’s seven-passenger luxury sport utility vehicle was designed, developed, engineered and produced in North America. There are four MDX grades: base MDX; MDX with Technology Package; MDX with Technology and Rear Entertainment Package and top-tier MDX with Advance Package. With an all-new platform, the ’15 MDX has a 2.8-in. longer wheelbase, MacPherson front/multilink rear suspensions and newly-released Electric Power Steering (EPS), which provides the driver greater agility and control. Combined with a 275 pound lighter high-strength body structure, the MDX has improved acceleration and fuel economy ratings. Standard and only engine available is the strong and efficient 290 horsepower, direct-injection 3.5-liter SOHC V-6 with “Earth Dreams Technology,” which enables the engine to switch seamlessly between three- and six-cylinder modes. The new engine comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential SportShift paddle shifters. The kid-friendly interior allows easier access to the third row of seating, and with all passenger seat backs folded, provides up to 90.9 cu. ft. of interior cargo capacity. Depending on model packages, 18- and 19-inch noise-reducing alloy wheels are offered. Acura customers will appreciate the state-of-the-art connectivity and entertainment available with Smart Entry with push button start, next-generation AcuraLink system, ‘Aha’ mobile, eight-inch On-Demand multi-info display touchscreen, rear activity systems with ultra-wide 16.2 inch full WVGA screen, and a powerful 432-watt Acura sound system.
