2015 ACURA ILX: Originally making its world debut at the Chicago Auto Show as a 2013 model, the feature-packed 2015 Acura ILX compact sedan offers two powertrain options plus premium features as the gateway into the Acura brand. Upgrades include standard 17-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels with all-season tires, projector beam headlights, and a cabin that now includes new leather seating surfaces and leatherette door liners, as well, eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats and a Multi-Angle rearview camera. Enhanced audio and electronics boost the ride experience with new subwoofer and Active Noise Cancellation. The standard trim, Technology Package or Premium Package models are available with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that produces 150 horsepower and comes paired with a Sequential SportShift five-speed automatic transmission. For those who seek a more vigorous driving experience, there is a 2.4-liter with an output of 201hp, mated to a standard close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox on the Premium Package. A number of new, high-value features include a smart entry keyless access system and pushbutton start, along with Pandora internet radio interface and SMS text message function for smart connectivity with the world. Further upgrades can add Bluetooth audio, speed-sensitive volume control, seven-speakers with subwoofer and 360-watt amplifier. For the 2015 model year, an exterior paint color called “Modern Steel Metallic” replaces last year’s Polished Metal Metallic. The ILX is manufactured exclusively by Honda in its Greensburg, Indiana plant.
