2014 VOLVO XC60: Volvo has made the most extensive refresh of the XC60 small premium utility since its introduction four years ago. Major change is the styling from the windshield forward, with new hood, front fenders and fascia, with shapely new headlights flanking a bold new grille wearing a larger Volvo Ironmark. The XC 60 is Volvo’s first crossover to offer sporty steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Standard on T6 AWD and R-Design, these paddle shifters let the driver shift manually with both hands on the steering wheel. For 2014, the XC60s gain a new shift knob for the floor-mounted shifter featuring piano black background with illuminated symbols for ease of viewing in the dark. This year, the Volvo XC60 offers three levels of performance, starting with the XC60 3.2. Its naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine provides 240 horsepower with ULEV II emissions rating or 230 horsepower with PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) rating. Front-wheel drive is standard while Volvo's All-Wheel Drive with Instant Traction is optional. The midrange XC60 T6 AWD offers an output for its 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine of 300 horsepower. All-Wheel-Drive with Instant Traction is standard on all turbocharged XC60s. At the top of the XC60 lineup is the T6 AWD R-Design. This model targets enthusiasts with a substantial performance upgrade. Its 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder delivers 325 horsepower, backed-by a chassis that employs stronger damping and a more direct steering gear for more precise communication with the road surface. All models are equipped with a six-speed “Geartronic” driver-adaptive automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the XC60 can tow up to 3,300 pounds. A new Sport Package including new sport seats and 20-inch Titania alloy wheels is offered on 3.2 and T6 AWD models. The available Climate Package gains a heated windshield and heated steering wheel this year. Among the XC60's list of interior upgrades is a new standard three-spoke steering wheel, Off Black dash top, wood décor trim on front door panels, cloth-covered B-pillars, metal trim around air vents, silver décor frame for the headlight module, Quartz headliner, new front door sill plates and a metal threshold for the cargo area. Speaking of cargo, the 2014 XC60 offers families 30.8 cu. ft. of room with the rear seats up, and up to 67.4 cu. ft. when rear seat back is lower.
