2014 TOYOTA RAV4: For 2014, the Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV is available in three well-equipped levels: LE, XLE and Limited. Beginning this model year, a Technology Package offered for the RAV4 Limited adds Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Alert and Auto High Beam. As the fourth-generation RAV4, styling has been updated with a sleek-sloping roofline, sculpted front and rear fenders, and an impressive silhouette. A major body change to the RAV4 is the switch from its traditional side-hinged rear door to a roof-hinged liftgate with spare tire stored under cargo floor. Exclusive powerplant offered on the '14 Toyota RAV4 is a 176 horsepower 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine, due to the discontinuation of the optional V-6 of the previous-generation RAV4. Also, replacing the prior four-speed automatic is a more fuel-efficient six-speed transmission with Sequential Shift, and to further enhance mileage, the fifth and sixth gears are overdrives. In both front- and all-wheel drive the RAV4 delivers sharp shift timing, throttle and steering response. There is two-row seating for five in the cabin, and in contrast to RAV4's compact exterior dimensions, the cargo area is deeper, larger and easier to access than in than earlier generations. There is 38.4 cu. ft. of cargo capacity behind the rear seats, and with rear seatbacks folded, RAV4 has a class-leading maximum cargo capacity of 73.3 cu. ft. Depending on trim level, available technologies add GPS navigation and Entune multimedia system, 576-watt JBL GreenEdge premium audio, Bluetooth hands-free phone, and blind spot monitor system.
