2015 NISSAN MURANO: For 2015, the Nissan Murano enters an all-new third generation model, with fresh styling, and is offered in four grade levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Each is available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 2015 Murano is available with a standard 3.5-liter DOHC V6 rated at 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. Also standard is an advanced Xtronic transmission tuned for quick response and smoothness. The Xtronic holds the engine at the ideal rpm for the conditions at hand, offering responsive power for passing when needed and quiet efficient running at cruising speeds or around town, with the new D-Step Logic adding the feel of a traditional stepped automatic. The rear cargo area dimensions have been stretched 3.3 inches in width and 2.0 inches in length, which along with the reconfigured shape of the rear liftgate, results in four extra cubic feet of cargo space – projected to be among the largest cargo area in the segment. Murano incorporates up to four cameras (front, rear, two side) and three radar sensors (one front, two side) to provide input to a range of available technologies, including Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) and Intelligent Cruise Control
The 2015 Murano will be assembled for the first time in the United States becoming the ninth model in production at the Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Canton, Mississippi. Chicago Auto Show Note: The inspiration for the model name of this Nissan mid-size crossover comes from famed Italian Murano glassware, known for its elegant designs.
