2014 NISSAN ALTIMA: Returning for its second year at the Chicago Auto Show is the fifth-generation Nissan Altima, billed as, “the most innovated Altima ever." For 2014, the Altima Sedan introduces major refinements, including replacing the previous Navigation Package with the new Technology Package that contains NissanConnect with navigation, NissanConnect Apps smartphone integration and SiriusXM Travel Link, plus Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection and Lane Departure Warning systems. A new Display Audio Package available includes 5.0-inch color display, rearview monitor, USB port and SiriusXM satellite radio  New accessory 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, chrome exhaust finishers, and eight available exterior colors, including Gun Metallic. Altima is offered in seven models, 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, 3.5 S, 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL. The fresh, aerodynamic body compliments the upscale five-passenger interior with premium materials, advanced technology features and NASA-inspired "zero gravity" front seats. Cargo space has been improved, with 15.4 cu. ft. of luggage/grocery room in the spacious trunk. Consumers have their choice of a redesigned 182 horsepower 2.5-liter DOHC inline four-cylinder engine or a proven 270hp 3.5L V-6. Next-generation Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) is standard with both engines. Along with greatly enhanced driver feel, the result of the new CVT redesign is an estimated 15+ percent improvement in fuel economy with the four-cylinder engine and a 10 percent improvement with the V-6 engine.
