2014 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT: After receiving many beneficial engineering updates both inside and out of the vehicle just last year, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport gains numerous welcome upgrades for the 2014 model year. New improvements include enhanced sound insulation, engine balancer shaft, black leather seating, power adjustable driver’s seat, audio system head unit (ES model), HD radio, MMCS navigation system with seven-inch high definition touch panel, voice command, 3D mapping, point-of-interest information, real-time traffic, Mapcare, Daytime Running Lights Package and available 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system with nine-speakers. Visually, the Outlander Sport continues with refined grille, front fascia, fog lights, side sills, redesigned bumpers and standard 18-inch alloy wheels on all trim levels. Powered by a 148 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with Mitsubishi's advanced MIVEC variable valve-timing technology, the Outlander Sport garners an impressive EPA fuel mileage rating of 31 mpg highway. While a crisp-shifting five-speed manual transmission is included on the ES two-wheel model, a high-tech Continuously-Variable Transmission (CVT) with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters is also available as is four-wheel drive. The Sport SE comes standard with the CVT and can be ordered with either two-wheel or driver-selected, electronically-controlled four-wheel drive systems. With composed handling, a comfortable ride and roomy seating for five-adults, the sport cabin includes new fabrics, chrome accents, noise reduction and improved high-performance speakers. When rear seating is folded flat, the Outlander Sport offers up to 49.5 cubic feet of cargo carrying capacity. Among the premium options is a panoramic glass roof, 40GB HDD navigation with music server and real-time traffic, and rearview camera system. Produced in the Normal, IL facility, the Outlander Sport is not only supplied to Mitsubishi dealers in the US, but also shipped to foreign markets.
