2014 LEXUS IS SPORT SEDAN: Appearing for the first time at last year’s Chicago Auto Show, the completely redesigned 2014 Lexus IS Sport Sedan continues as an entry point into the Lexus brand for performance-oriented customers. The exterior and interior have been enhanced by a stretched wheelbase (nearly three-inches) and visually, the body features a strong horizontal beltline, wide flare of the wheel arches, Lexus’ spindle grille and articulated headlamp cluster with L-shaped daytime running lights. For 2014, the Lexus IS is available in rear-and all-wheel drive versions of the IS 250 and IS350. Both models come fitted with V-6 engines. A 204 horsepower 2.5 liter is on the IS 250, mated to a six-speed automatic, while the IS 350 produces 306hp from the stock 3.5L and connected to Lexus-engineered eight-speed automatic transmission, performance tires and a drive select system with four switchable driving modes - Eco, Normal, Sport and Sport S+. These levels optimize vehicle systems best combination of fuel, economy, comfort, performance and handling characteristics. Within the elegant five-passenger cabin is Lexus display audio or remote touch-controlled navigation multimedia systems, and the IS becomes the first model to offer a subscription-free, real-time traffic and weather information on its integrated audio system. Availble technology includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane-departure warning. All occupants will appreciate the improvement in rear seat comfort and spaciousness. New to the IS are standard, lockable 60/40 split/folding rear seats, a larger trunk (13.8 cu.ft.) and the industry first subscription-free traffic and weather on all multimedia systems.
