2014 HYUNDAI ELANTRA SEDAN: Refreshed 2014 Hyundai Elantra receives all-new front and rear exterior designs, upgraded interior styling, new GDI engine and improved handling. Elantra Sport is added to the lineup, and the Elantra GLS is now Elantra SE. New technologies built into the ‘14 Elantra include the next-generation navigation and audio technology, enhanced voice recognition commands, improved navigation screens and available Pandora internet radio. A 4.3-inch color touchscreen with integrated rearview camera is now available on the entry level SE, in the Preferred Package, and as standard equipment on the Elantra Sport and Limited. Under the hood, the SE and Limited come with an all-new 148 horsepower 1.8 liter Nu four-cylinder engine, while the Elantra Sport trim is outfitted with the 2.0L “Nu” GDI four-cylinder that produces 173hp. Engines can be ordered with the hi-tech six-speed manual gearbox or new in-house six-speed automatic transaxle with Shiftronic manual control. Elantra's five passenger cabin is so roomy the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies it as a mid-size car, not a compact car. Elantra’s trunk volume at 14.8 cubic feet can fit three sets of golf clubs. Standard audio system is a 172-watt AM/FM/satellite radio/CD/MP3 audio system with six-speakers and iPod/USB/auxiliary input jacks. A 360-watt system with external amplifier is optional. Elantra's trunk volume at 14.8 cubic feet also beats most competitors. An additional 2014 highlight is mellow Atlantic Blue to the color palette. Hyundai's emotional "Fluidic Sculpture" design principles demand an assertive stance, flowing lines, sleek roofline and muscular wheel arches. Filling the wheel wells are 16- or 17-inch rims and tires, and available fog lights and side mirrors with integrated turn signals complete the distinct design.
