2014 HYUNDAI ELANTRA GT: Hyundai Motor America introduces the refreshed 2014 Elantra GT with a more powerful engine, five-door functionality, sophisticated suspension tuning and interior space. The GT now includes a standard 2.0-liter Nu Gasoline Direct Injection engine, which adds 25 more horsepower and 23 lb.-ft. of torque from the prior model year. This powertrain produces 173 horsepower and 154 lb.-ft. of torque, and can be equipped with a six-speed manual or automatic transaxle with Shiftronic manual control. Combine these gains with a low curb weight, and the '14 Elantra GT can boast the best power-to-weight ratio and specific output in the segment. The GT also features an aggressive profile, low overall height, steamlined rocker panels and minimum tire lower wind resistance for a smoother ride. To sharpen the look of the 2014 Elantra GT, Hyundai engineers added LED taillights, and improve visibility via a new integrated driver’s blind spot mirror. The Elantra GT seating layouts can comfortably accommodate four or five passengers, plus long items like golf clubs or snowboards. Fold down two seats, to seat three people and hold larger packages or fold all of the back seats to get 23 cu. ft. of CUV-sized cargo space. Elantra GT offers many premium items, such as standard cooled glove box, heated front seats, steering-wheel mounted audio and cruise controls and Bluetooth hands-free system with voice recognition. Behind the wheel, drivers benefit from selectable steering modes to select – Comfort, Normal and Sport – that adapt steering characteristics to varying driving preferences and road conditions.
