2014 HYUNDAI ELANTRA COUPE: Big news for the athletic-styled 2014 Hyundai Elantra Coupe is the new Torque-Rich 2.0-liter Nu gasoline direct injection engine. As standard equipment in the Elantra Coupe, this powerplant produces 173 horsepower and 154 lbs.-ft. of torque – which adds 25 more hp and 18 percent more torque than the prior 1.8L engine. Mated to the 2.0L is a six-speed electronic automatic with Shiftronic manual shift mode. The 2014 Elantra Coupe is now offered in only one, very well equipped trim level, combining the GS and SE trims into one model. Standard equipment includes driver’s blind spot side mirror, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler and revised instrument HVAC controls. Hyundai’s hexagonal front fascia opening and jeweled swept-back headlights are now with available projector beams and LED accents. Fog lights and bodycolored side mirrors turn signal repeaters complement the front. From the rear, a blacked-out rear diffuser valance contrasts with dual chrome-tipped exhaust tips, and the integrated lip spoiler design element. New for the 14 model year is the addition of available LED taillights to further heighten Elantra Coupe’s rear appearance. Complimenting the sleek exterior and long wheelbase, the Coupe cockpit offers room for four, with standard heated front seats, push-button start and a trunk that holds up to 14.8 cu. ft. of sporting gear. Interior can be ordered in gray or black, to compliment the six exterior colors, two unique to the Coupe: Monaco White and Black Noir Pearl. Next-generation navigation and audio technology with Pandora internet is available, as is a cooled glovebox and new straight pull transmission selector with leather boot. Blue Link and Assurance Connected Care services include Automatic Collision Notification, Monthly Vehicle Health Report and in-vehicle Car Care maintenance scheduling among other features.
