2014 HONDA FIT: Honda advertises the subcompact Fit model as “Efficient meets cool.” The slogan represents the "windswept" Super-forward aero-form exterior design, comfortable seating for up to five passengers, plus 20.6 cubic feet of storage space behind the rear seats - more than in a typical sedan. With the enhanced versatility of the exclusive 60/40 split rear seating, a total of 57.3 cu. ft. of cargo volume is available when the rear seatbacks are folded down. The four distinct seat configurations are designed to accommodate large objects from mountain bikes to tall houseplants. While at the 106th edition of the Chicago Auto Show (Feb. 8-17, 2014), ask a Honda represenative about the improved Magic Seat with one-motion dive-down mechanism. All models (Fit and Fit Sport) are front-wheel drive, and powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver a winning combination of 117 horsepower and fuel efficiency. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard and a five-speed automatic transmission is available. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on the top-of-the-line Fit Sport models come equipped with the available automatic transmission, and allows for manual gear selection. The Fit Sport can be spotted by its body-colored underbody kit and rear roofline spoiler, fog lights and "machined surface" 16-inch alloy wheels. Fit's compact size and tight turning diameter (34.4 feet, curb-to-curb) allows the vehicle to conveniently navigate space-confined urban areas and fit in small parking spaces.
