2014 HONDA CR-V: As one of the most fun and functional compact SUVs, the fourth-generation Honda CR-V carries over for 2014 with bolder styling direction, increased fuel economy and loaded with value for entry-level SUVs. Model lineup includes the CR-V LX, EX and EX-L, each with front-wheel or ‘Real Time’ all-wheel drive configurations. The current CR-V has a slightly lower roofline, additional noise insulation and more aerodynamic features including large underbody covers and a rear spoiler. A significant new feature in the car-like five-passenger cabin is the Easy Fold-Down 60/40 split rear seat, and when the rear seat is lowered, there is 70.9 cu. ft. of cargo room. Adding to the in-vehicle experience is the standard one-pull fold-flat rear seats, cruise control, Bluetooth,HandsFreeLink, air conditioning, rearview camera, 160-watt four-speaker audio system with Pandora interface (with compatible smartphones), and available DVD Rear Entertainment System and FM Traffic. Powering all ‘14 CR-Vs is a 2.4-liter i-VTEC DOHC four-cylinder engine that offers 185 horsepower, enhanced torque delivery and provides a 10 percent increase in highway fuel economy. The engine is mated to a standard five-speed automatic transmission. Also new, is a driver's-side Expanded-View driver's mirror. Chicago Auto Show Fact: Since it’s debut as a 1995 model, the CR-V has been a popular vehicle at the annual Chicago event. Word on the show floor is that the CR-V is sold in more than 160 countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, and the U.S. models are manufactured at the Honda East Liberty, Ohio auto plant from domestic and globally sourced parts.
