2014 GMC SIERRA HD: Diversity defines the Sierra Heavy Duty (HD) 3/4-ton truck lineup for 2014, blending heavy-duty capability with style and luxury. New this year is a bi-fuel compressed natural gas fuel system and bi-fuel compatible version of the 6.0-liter V-8 engine for 2500 HD crew cab models. Also new is an optional spray-in bed liner. The full-size Sierra HD is available in Work Truck, SLE and SLT trim levels, as well as the distinctive Sierra Denali HD package. In total, there are 10 Sierra 2500HD models, eight 3500HD and six Sierra Denali HD models. Among them are regular cab (2-3 passengers), extended and crew cabs (5-6), offered in two-wheel and four-wheel drive, as well as rear- and dual-rear-wheel configurations. Payload ratings range from 2631-9525 lb. The standard powertrain is the Vortec 6.0-liter gasoline V-8 that develops 360 horsepower, comes mated to the Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission, and is capable of pulling up to 14,300 pounds. Optional across the board, is the powerful Duramax 6.6L turbo-diesel V-8 that produces 397hp and comes connected to the Allison 1000 six-speed automatic gearbox, and is capable of towing 21,700 lbs and offers B20 biodiesel capability. A new chrome grille distinguishes the SLE and SLT models, and heated and cooled front seats, leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and rear vision camera are now standard on Sierra Denali HDs. The latest technology includes available mobile WiFi, USB connectivity, Bluetooth for phone connectivity, OnStar 9.0 and a hard-drive navigation SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Buyers can select from nine exterior paint choices, including shades titled, Sonoma Red Jewel metallic, Onyx Black and Heritage Blue metallic.
