2014 FORD TAURUS: The stylish 2014 Taurus is the first car in Ford's North American lineup to offer the advanced 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, which combines a turbocharger with gasoline direct injection. Delivering 240 horsepower, the four cylinder provides a best-in-class highway fuel economy of at least 31 mpg. When fitted with the standard 3.5L V-6, Taurus delivers increased performance from its 288 horsepower. Powering the Taurus SHO is a EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 – delivering 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. All engines are mated with unique six-speed SelectShift automatic transmissions. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available only with the V-6. The 2014 Taurus features a more muscular hood, larger wheels and tires that fill out the wheel-well openings, and raised rear quarter panels with larger LED taillights. Just as appealing is the sporty and inviting five-passenger cabin, with available eight-inch MyFord Touch screen, enhanced Sony audio system, paddle shifters and heated steering wheel. The optional active park assist allows Taurus to scan and calculate trajectory and properly position the vehicle to an appropriate parking space. For groceries or luggage, there is 20.1 cu. ft. of cargo space in the roomy trunk. Covered elsewhere is the Ford Taurus SHO, which offers unique, performance-inspired design, road manners to match - and even more differentiation within the Taurus lineup. Chicago Auto Show fact: All 2014 Ford Taurus models are manufactured at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant, the company’s oldest continually-operated automobile manufacturing plant, which is less than 20 miles south of McCormick Place.
