2014 FORD F-150 SVT RAPTOR: Exciting news for Ford F-150 fans is the introduction of the 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds unique new touches to the high-performing off-road pickup truck - including a unique new exterior color, Ruby Red Metallic, upgraded interior and custom exterior graphics. For 2014, all F-150 SVT Raptors receives minor refinements that include available high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps; industry-first direct-from-the-factory, forged-aluminum conventional wheels, expanded connectivity features and a front grille-mounted camera to improve driver visibility when climbing over rocks and other obstacles. Adding to the exterior color palette is Sunset Metallic, joining Race Red, Tuxedo Black Metallic, Ingot Silver Metallic, Oxford White, and desert camouflage-inspired Terrain.Raptor continues to offer industry-exclusive beadlock-capable wheels that secure the edges of a tire to the hub between two surfaces so the tire is unlikely to roll off the rim if it's aired down to very low pressure, providing extra grip on the trail. The SVT Raptor comes equipped with the 6.2-liter V-8 that pumps-out 411 horsepower and 434 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s connected with an electronic six-speed automatic transmission that includes tow/haul mode and SelectShift automatic functionality. The four-wheel drive (4WD) system features electronic shift-on-the-fly capability for the transfer case, and maximum conventional hitch trailer tow capacity is rated at 8,000 pounds. Inside the cabin, the SVT Raptor is equipped with standard unique leather and cloth-trimmed seats, feature Raptor-specific bolsters to keep the driver and first-row passenger firmly in place, regardless of terrain conditions. SVT Raptor can be specified with Ford’s innovative connectivity technology SYNC / MyFord Touch that allows drivers to keep both hands on the wheel. This technology is optimized for truck owners with specialized buttons they can operate while wearing gloves, and a larger screen for improved readability. Chicago Auto Show fact: Ford is the first manufacturer to equip its entire full-size pickup truck lineup with fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmissions - all on display at McCormick Place, Feb 8-17, 2014.
