2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY: One of the most popular high performance supercars at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show was the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - and will once again be a top headliner at this year's show (Feb. 8-17). The visually stunning '14 Corvette coupe and convertible models mark the arrival of the seventh-generation of "America's Sport Car," and as the C7, goes farther than ever, thanks to today's advancements in design, technology and engineering. Matching the boldly sculptured exterior is a new 6.2 liter (376 cubic inch) LT1 V-8 engine with available performance exhaust system that pumps out 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Consumers have their choice of a six-speed paddle-shift automatic or seven-speed manual gearbox with "Active Rev Match" that anticipates gear selections and matches engine speed for perfect shifts every time. Either way, we're talking 0-to-60 mph in less than four seconds. For 2014, the Corvette shares only two parts with the previous generation model. Underneath is an all-new frame structure and chassis that helped shift weight rearward for an optimal 50/50 weight balance. Lightweight features include a carbon fiber hood and removable roof panel; composite fenders, doors and rear quarter panels. Slide into the cockpit composed of premium materials, smaller-diameter steering wheel, standard dual, eight-inch configurable driver/infotainment screens and available color head-up display. There are two new seat choices - each featuring a lightweight magnesium frame.
