2014 BUICK ENCORE: Encore, Buick's luxury small crossover, returns for 2014 with new safety features that complement the luxury amenities, refinement and signature Buick style. The new features include Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert.  The ‘14 Encore is offered in front-wheel and available all-wheel-drive configurations in four trim levels: Encore (1SB), Encore Convenience (1SD), Encore Leather (1SL) and Encore Premium (1SN).  Standard powerplant is the Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 140 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission backs the 1.4L engine. Notable styling details include blue-accented projector-beam headlights and stylish taillights that enhance the premium appearance; and those handsome 18-inch, five-spoke painted aluminum wheels come standard. And optional, are the seven-spoke chrome wheels. With room for five passengers and up to 48.4 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seat folded, the Encore offers substantial cargo capacity along with the confident, higher driving position and all-wheel-drive capability of a crossover. An all-Ebony or contemporary mix of dark and light tones distinguishes the cabin, which is accented with ice-blue ambient lighting, select use of bright chrome and woodgrain trim.  All eight exterior colors include a lower accent color. An example is White Pearl Tricoat with Satin Nickel metallic accent. Encore is built on a global small-crossover platform and engineered with a "one-tire" philosophy. Everything is optimized around a single 18-inch tire specification, designed for more precise suspension tuning, driving refinement, quietness and a feeling of control.
